Wet Felting Kit. Beginners. Play Mat

A beginner wet-felting kit for making a beach-scene play mat. The finished mat can be used as a background for small-world play or as a decorative felt picture.

What is included

• Wool for the project
• Step-by-step written instructions with photographs

You will also need

• A small jug
• Approximately 700–800 ml of water
• Washing-up liquid
• A sink or bowl
• Two pieces of bubble wrap, approximately 65 × 80 cm
• One bubble-wrap circle, approximately 20 cm in diameter
• Old towels or a waterproof table covering

Optional finishing tools

A felting needle and sponge can be used to correct small areas or add embellishments, but they are not required and are not included.

This project can be completed by adults or by children aged four and over with close adult help and supervision.
