Needle Felting Projects Colour Selection Help

The question we are asked the most is what colours to pick. Colour selection is very personal.

This page will give you some ideas.

I find that taking screenshots of the colours and creating collage useful when deciding the shades to use ( adobe express of google have free ones, or any of the free collage apps).

We also have some ready wool sets designed for you, these are approximately 50 g in total of wool only, no tools, pictures or instructions will be included. These are meant to give you a set of colours for the finishing layer. You create a base shape from the core wool of your choice and then use these wool sets to colour it in.

Ready made sets can be found here or just take and inspiration for your own selection.

colour chart carded Nz wool for needle felting

Carded NZ wool from Thefeltbox is one of the best wools for needle felting out there. It comes as carded wool batt where fibres are already mixed, making it easier to felt. This wool has a short staple length making it a great, bulky carded wool great for 3D needle felting projects. This wool is a blend of sheep wools from New Zealand. Thickness is approx. 27 microns and it comes in a brilliant range of colours and is very easy to use. Carded wool can be used  as core wool and as finishing wool.100% pure wool, staple length 6.5-9.0 cm, 25-31 microns. The wool may contain vegetable matter.
