Carded Felting Wool Shade Packs — a selection of carded wool for needle felting and fibre art, in 100 g or 200 g.
Choose your colour family and your pack size. Most shade packs contain 10 colours from the range you pick, close to the photos shown.
| 100 g pack | 200 g pack | |
|---|---|---|
| Wool per colour | 10 g of each | 20 g of each |
| Labelling | Colours are supplied together, without individual labels | Each colour is bundled separately and labelled with its shade |
| Best suited to | One large animal, or a few medium projects | Larger projects, or building a colour collection you can top up |
If you plan to make the same thing again, or you are building a palette you want to keep, the 200 g pack is the one to choose. Labelled shades mean you can reorder the exact colour rather than guess at it.
Note: Black & White packs contain two shades only, so you receive 50 g of each in the 100 g pack and 100 g of each in the 200 g pack.
Waste Wool packs work differently. These use end-of-roll fibres and offcuts of mostly carded wool. Colours change from batch to batch and are not labelled in either size. A good way to experiment and to use up fibre that would otherwise go to waste.
About the wool: Our Carded NZ Wool from The Felt Box is a good choice for needle felting. The fibres are lightly mixed and carded, which makes them easier to shape. This New Zealand blend is approximately 27 micron with a short staple, giving a smooth, bulky texture that felts quickly and holds detail. It suits 3D sculptures, 2D pictures and mixed media work.
