Discover DHG Maori carded wool – one of the best wools for felting.
This beautiful blend of New Zealand Maori wool (27 microns) and Bergschaf wool (33 microns) is pre-blended into batts, making it easy to felt, smooth to shape, and perfect for both needle and wet felting.

This wool felts beautifully, making it ideal for 3D projects and crisp details. For best results, we recommend 36 triangular or 38 star felting needles. Finer gauges (40–42) can be used for delicate work but aren’t essential.
Carded Maori wool also works wonderfully for wet felting – creating strong, robust surfaces with clean edges.

Please note: These wools are carefully washed before carding, but tiny grass bits will remain – this is perfectly natural for a genuine fibre product.
Additional information
Maori felting wool was created in 2007 by DHG. The dyeing complies with Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and is carried out in DHG’s GOTS 5.0 and GRS certified dyeing house. The blends is ethical, sustainable, and mulesing free.
