Needles, Wool, Mistakes, Advice and the One Tip - Tatiana Trot from Needle Felting and Crafts

1. What are your favourite needles to use?

38 regular is my universal needle, 40 for finishing fine details and reverse for a fluffy look.

2. What is your favourite type of wool to work with?

My absolute favourite is Corriedale, but I use all kinds depending on desired look. I keep small amounts of all colors and types of wool I have in the same bag, so I can see how they match by color and texture.

3. What is the worst piece of  advice you keep hearing for needle felters?

I don't hear it often but it's definitely worse to me - to use pieces of old clothing like old wool sweaters or socks as a core for your projects.

4. What common mistakes do people make when they start out?

An assumption that needle felting is more technique than Art, setting expectations and getting discouraged too fast.

5. What is the one thing a beginner could learn today that would  make a difference to their work?

Not to rely on advises especially when it comes to the look of your project. Be unique and creative, not like somebody else.
